i struggle to explain this piece. no matter how beautiful an ending a sunset is, it is an ending nonetheless. we are being seen to our demise, subsumed into our death. but we will not go quietly. to quote something that one of my professors said this week that really struck me: “the only response to this is excellence” - and excellent we will be. we will be remembered for the fight we put up, for our spectacular sunset before nightfall.
