Does it matter what students care about? Why were we never consulted about Yale-NUS' merger? What they are shutting down is not just a physical educational institution - it is the loss of a wholesome, unique campus culture, a close-knit college community, a part of history, and an important identity.

Everything that was built over the years with blood, sweat and tears is going to be dissolved in an instant with no prior consultation or warning whatsoever. Is this right? Do they expect everyone to take this lying down?

This is a sad time for Singapore's education. A few years down the road, we may be the only ones who remember Yale-NUS/USP/FoE/SDE and will not be able to share this huge and significant part of our lives with many people. Things will not be the same anymore. Will anyone else remember us?
